For those of you who have not been in Moormead Park lately, work has begun on the refurbishment of the playground. Starting about three weeks ago, the old playground has been completely removed as well as the fence parallel to Moormead Road.
Currently only the brick outlines of the new toddler and children’s areas are visible. However, the Council still hopes to have all work completed by the St Margarets’ Fair on 15 July.
Additionally, new lighting has been put up along the all the paths in the park; from Moormead Road to Cole Park Road, as well as from Cole Park View to St Margarets Grove.
Also, do not forget that on Saturday, 24 June, there is the Moormead Park Group : Pavilion Clearing Out Day hopes to clear out and paint the pavilion.

The Park now seems to have a new nane, according to the central piece of rotating seating kit placed therein, namely; MOORHEAD PARK. This, if not carved in stone, is certaily drilled in steel, so will it be fixed?? I've called the council parks dept to draw this to their attention. They seemed concerned, but what will be done about it? If it's a contractor problem doubtless it will be sorted but if it's a council error will it be adressed or will we continue to have have a new name for our beloved Moormead? Keep on the case for us please!!
