McGlynn Builders Ltd. has submitted a planning proposal to convert the Crown Works buildings at 16A Crown Road into a mixed use development with 10 new maisonettes and 6 new commercial units.
Highlights from the documents are:
- No gardens
- No residential parking, some for the commercial units
- 9 one bedroom maisonettes
- 1 two bedroom maisonettes
- 6 commercial units
- onsite cycle storage

Comments
The idea that the occupants of 10 flats will not own or use any cars is not plausible. This will cause considerable problems in terms of parking in Crown Road and other nearbly roads and, also, the overdevelopment of the site will further add to the strain on local schools and other communal facilities.
