Orleans House Gallery has an exciting new programme for adults this autumn - from painting classes, creative writing, workshops and art history lectures.
Art History Lectures
Weekly Masterpiece
In this 10 week programme we explore the history of European art great masterpieces, starting from the Ancient Greeks throught to the second half of the 20th Century.
Each lecture is a self-contained exploration of a particular period and so can be enjoyed as a stand-alone session or as part of the series.
The sessions include a one hour lecture followed by Q&As.

Talk & Draw - Dementia Friendly
Join this conversational session which focuses on an art piece in our gallery. The group will be engaged in a light arts and craft activity based around the collection or current exhibition. Hosted on the first Thursday of the month.

The Painting Class
Portraits, Oil
Responding to our Reinventing the Selfie exhibition, on display from 6th October to 4th December, these sessions will explore the art of portraiture. Working with artist Anna Saunders you will look at portraiture, considering how to build the structure of the head, paint flesh tones and obtain a likeness. The course is aimed at both beginners and students with experience of portrait or other painting.

Creative Writing
Master Class in Creative Writing
Develop your creative writing and learn how to generate inspiration from poetry, gallery exhibitions and even the world around us.
London poet, Agnieszka Studzinska has an MA in Creative Writing from the UEA, and is currently working towards her PhD at Royal Holloway. Her first debut collection, Snow Calling was shortlisted for the London New Poetry Award 2010.

Crafty Makers: Upcycled Jewellery
Working with Jewellery Artist, Eden Silver-Myer to create unique pieces of art by recycling everyday objects. These would make perfect gift ideas for Christmas, or just a little treat for yourself. This course is aimed at beginners as well as those more experienced with crafting jewellery at home.

Meet the Artist
Series of workshops delivered by the KAOS artists in response to their exhibition:
KAOS: Re-Inventing the Selfie
A wide variety of works will be exhibited, including drawing, painting, paper sculpture, textiles, ceramics, collage and mixed media.
